Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Partners with business
    leaders to identify and prioritize data science projects
  • Helps design systems and
    applications that solve key business problems using machine learning and
    other advanced techniques
  • Evangelizes the use and
    application of machine learning to solve key business problems
  • Manages the team's data
    science projects from start to finish and ensures successful deployment of
    data science applications while following corporate security policies,
    protecting production environments and utilizing enterprise solutions
  • Creates an effective feedback
    loop with the business to understand the use of the data science
    applications and creates a roadmap of projects and initiatives to mature
    the applications
  • Collaborates with IT and the
    data and analytics business leader to build out and maintain the data
    science environment while acknowledging decision making authority of the
    Data and Analytics Business Leader
  • Works with IT platform owners
    to create an effective production support plan
  • Creates and documents the
    capabilities needed and socializes the various options under consideration
    by sharing design diagrams for networking, infrastructure layouts,
    security, application flows, data access flows and other process layouts
  • Aligns projects and
    initiatives with key business goals and objectives and keeps an eye on
    delivering business results and value in a timely manner
  • Communicates and clarifies
    business decisions using various methods in order to foster alignment and
    buy-in as well as influence actions of peers and various stakeholder
  • Influences and motivates
    technical resources to ensure they achieve expected results and high
    quality outcomes
  • Influences and motivates
    others to meet commitments, perform successfully and to work
    collaboratively to deliver distinctive business solutions
  • Takes initiative to gain
    consensus while considering the implications and nature of changes across
    domains and the organization
  • Resolves conflicts so there
    is minimal disruption to business processes and project schedules, while
    helping others manage through changing environments
Must have qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with
    quantitative focus in Econometrics, Statistics, Operations Research,
    Computer Science or related field (i. e. Mathematics) and a minimum of 8
    years of relevant experience in Statistical/Quantitative modeling and/or
    Machine Learning tools (R, Python, etc.) and in using various database
    tools (e. g. Hadoop, SQL) processing large volumes of structured and
    unstructured data
  • A minimum of 8 years of
    experience with mathematical model creation and/or evaluation, hypothesis
    testing and experimental design
  • A minimum of 2 years in a
    supervisory/management role
