Job Description:
EDS, an HP company, is currently seeking a UNIX/C Developer Information Specialist for an exciting career opportunity to develop new systems solutions in the healthcare field. This position supports the TennCare systems development in Nashville, TN. The position entails developing program specifications/detail design documents, coding, testing and debugging application programs. Information Specialists also provide mentorship to junior members of the team and provide technical leadership on small to mid-level projects.
Job Description: 34210 - UNIX/C Developer Information Analyst
* Under broad direction, conceptualizes, designs, constructs, tests, and implements portions of business and technical information technology solutions through application of appropriate software development life cycle methodology.
* Interacts with the customer to gain an understanding of the business environment, technical context and organizational strategic direction.
* Analyzing and implementing customer requirements
* Working with the customer to test and install the system
* Working with customers (internal and external) is a necessity
* Defines scope, plans and deliverables for assigned projects.
* Prepares system documentation.
Job Essential Functions: 34210 - The successful candidate for this UNIX/C Developer Information Specialist position must have the ability to perform the follow functions:
* Design, code, test, implement and validate business, and technical information technology related programs.
* Identify, analyze, and devise solutions to business and technical information technology problems.
* Interact with customers regarding business and technical information technology needs.
* Manage projects within scope of responsibility.
* Work flexible hours.
Position Prerequisites:
* Excellent written & verbal English language communication skills
* Minimum 7 years experience with C programming languages
* Minimum 10 years experience with PL/SQL
* Minimum 10 years experience with Solaris UNIX
* Healthcare industry experience is a plus
