Opportunity for a Network Lead in the Army Data Center in Fairfield, Ca. Candidate will be responsible for the following tasks: - Overall network management, installation, monitoring and support of a complex network supporting a robust, reliable, and secure Data Center Network infrastructure. - Maintain and support DS3, T1, and ISDN lines - Supporting Voice over IP telecommunications systems - Manage KIV-7s, STEs and support DoD key material (KEYMAT) - Support network security through the installation, update, and maintenance of firewalls and Intrusion Detection Systems - Tests and implements interface programs; - Evaluates hardware and software for large, complex networks to determine which products best meet organization/customer needs; - Monitors and manages network performance to ensure maximum availability and uptime; - Ensures that security procedures are implemented and enforced; - Evaluates, develops, and maintains telecommunications systems; - Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems to ensure minimal disruption of mission-critical applications; - Establishes network policies and procedures regarding access methods and time, security validation checks, and documentation; - Researches hardware and software issues regarding the network and resolves network issues; - Installs network equipment including cabling, hubs, switches, routers, phone equipment and more; - Ensures systems configurations are properly backed up; - Designs and manages circuit redundancy to ensure maximum availability; - Maintains current knowledge of relevant hardware and software applications as assigned; - Participates in special projects as required; - Responsible for managing a team of 5 or less network administrators;
Requires BS/BA degree.
- Requires 10-15 years experience - Must have strong experience with Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and VOIP systems including 6500, 4500, 3800, 2800 series, ASA products, MDS 9500 series, MARS, and Unified Communications 6.x - Need experience with Secure Computing Sidewinder products, Solar Winds Orion, Net Forensics, IP Telephony, Intrusion Detection Systems, and best security practices - Experience with circuit technologies such as MPLS, and frame relay
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally. Capable of traveling and working in a team environment - Thorough knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network administration and support - Must have Cisco and Secure Computing certifications - Must have Information Assurance certifications - Need to have knowledge of Department of Defense and Army regulations, policies, and procedures
