The Advisory Board is rapidly expanding its portfolio of technology solutions to provide hospitals with clearer insight into their financial, operational and clinical businesses. In response to hospitals’ growing need to aggregate disparate data into meaningful business intelligence, The Advisory Board continues to invest in growing its new portfolio of technology solutions and consulting services. Through Advisory Board Compass Solutions, we aim to empower hospitals to achieve business performance goals through faster, data-driven decision-making. The goal of these solutions is to elevate a member (client) institutions ability to recognize obstacles, make faster decisions and ultimately improve performance. We currently offer tools covering a variety of content areas including revenue cycle management, surgery, supply chain management, nursing, quality, ED, and physician performance.

Job Summary

The Advisory Board seeks a highly entrepreneurial leader with uncommon drive to manage all strategic and operational functions within a major product area of the business.  This leadership role includes full P&L responsibility for managing a high growth $10M - $20M+ SaaS technology business. This leader would be charged with setting a strategic vision to grow the business to over $50M in revenue and more than 150 employees in the next three years.   The GM will be expected to execute on the growth vision through extensive coordination with key hospital customers, development and management staff, sales and new product development as well as the firm’s executive team.  The GM will serve on, and work closely with, the Business Intelligence Executive Team currently comprised of the CEO, President, and senior-most leaders across the Business Intelligence organization.  

Specific responsibilities include:

•    Translate product and growth vision into operational tactics and build the organizational infrastructure needed to achieve them.
•    Establish business metrics to meet client requirements and to achieve growth and margin targets and goals.
•    Provide senior level guidance and support in the sales and contract renewal process including: support for collateral development and technology demonstrations, contract negotiations.
•    Ensure adequate staffing plans are in place to support pipeline and client commitments. Active leadership participation in attracting, selecting and mentorship of new talent to the business.
•    Develop strong intra-company relationships by proactively meeting with key Advisory Board Company business leadership to communicate key aspects of business performance and to keep abreast of changes within the broader business landscape and to shape decisions at the firmwide level.
•    Partner with finance to oversee the budgeting, forecasting and detailed review of monthly and operational results.


Qualifications

•    Significant leadership experience managing complex operational organizations, preferably in a high growth environment.  
•    Business intelligence and/or a commercial software product company experience.  Must have a strong product orientation and experience,
•    People Management: A successful track record as a leader, developer and manager of people and cross-functional teams; demonstrated experience to attract, retain and develop strong talent and build a positive organizational and team culture
•    Proven track record in effectively leading project development teams to produce on-time, high quality product releases.
•    Proven history of thriving in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment
•    Bachelor’s degree required with an advance degreed preferred (e.g., MBA, MD)
•    Healthcare experience is required
