Job Description:

Our client has over 2M *daily* page views in the Southeast, and they are looking to connect large local/regional advertisers to the massive audience they have created around local news and commentary.


 


If you have experience selling advertising for online sites through local and regional advertising agencies in the southeast (KY, TN, MO, TX, LA, FL, GA), we have a great opportunity for you. 



Background:


Our client is a growing, privately held online company established in 2004.  Since the “local” online space is heating up and the largest opportunity to monetize their success and audience is in your backyard.  The company has already been selling into agencies for nearly three years, have the infrastructure to sell and serve online advertising, and you won’t be working with a “pre revenue” or “pioneering” mindset, with all the issues that entails, but rather working a new territory that has a lot of audience.



Responsibilities:



  • Main responsibility is to drive online advertising sales with local and regional digital Advertising Agencies and in-house client marketing departments within the assigned territory, and sell them on the audience we serve in your area of the country.

  • Excellent prospecting and cold calling skills necessary. An aggressive attitude in getting to closing sales quickly will be key

  • Communicate with potential clients with various methods including, phone, email and face to face meetings.

  • Prepare proposals and respond to RFP’s with a high degree of quality and in a timely manner.

  • Prepare Insertion Orders and negotiate with agencies.

  • Work with the rest of the company (including ad operations) to ensure that client’s needs are being met to the best of our ability.

  • Prepare sales forecasts and reports on a weekly basis.



Requirements



  • ** MUST HAVE online ad sales experience, regional and local online ad agency contacts, and a solid work history to apply.  

  • Established contacts with regional accounts/agencies in KY, TN, MO, FL, GA, LA *REQUIRED*

  • Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience

  • 3+ years sales experience in related field, online sales a must

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Proven ability to work autonomously, and work with corporate staff from a remote office, can self motivate and self direct activities

  • Knowledge of local business and advertising trends and the ability to translate this knowledge into advertising solutions for customers

  • Advanced understanding of online advertising and marketing, including pricing structures (CPM, CPC, CPA, CPL) and media types (e.g., banners, skyscrapers, box ads, email newsletters).

  • Excellent attention to detail, highly organized and flexible
