Job Description:

Title:  Leadership Development Specialist
Location:  Meijer Headquarters - Grand Rapids, MI


 


The individual selected for this position will report to the Manager, Learning & Development and have primary accountability for designing, developing, and delivering leadership development programs for Meijer.


 


This position will be located in Grand Rapids, MI or one of the regional offices. Travel required - up to 50% within the Meijer markets.  This position requires variable shift coverage to meet business needs.


 


Leadership development content areas include:


Coaching, Performance Management, HR Policies and Practices, Leading Change, Situational Leadership, and Business Acumen. 


 


Essential functions include:


Partnering and working collaboratively with division, regional and store leadership to develop and execute leadership development plans; Ensuring the cost-effective design, sharing, implementation, evaluation and continual improvement of Leadership Development solutions and best practices that meet identified needs and objectives; focusing all efforts on improving performance outcomes and business results using a systems approach; and making effective financial and operational decisions that positively impact business outcomes and opportunities for competitive advantage.

The individual selected for this position should possess the following skills, knowledge and abilities:


 


*  Bachelors degree in a training, human resources development, or learning-related discipline with 4 years experience (required)
*  Masters degree with 5 years experience in leadership development training and at least 2 years people manager experience (preferred)

*  Gathering data to demonstrate the impact of learning and performance solutions
*  Ensuring that leaders have the right skills to meet the strategic challenges
*  Assuring alignment of career planning and talent management processes to achieve an optimal match between individual and organizational needs
*  Promoting individual growth and organizational renewal
*  Fluency in oral and written English required
