Job Description:
Project Manager responsible for providing Northrop Grumman Mission Assurance and technical support for RSLP launch programs. Must have a technical background and experience with missile or launch test disciplines and programs. Activities include working directly with a Government Program Manager; forecasting, allocating and managing NG project budgets; coordinating NG technical support for the program from technical centers at other geographical locations; and providing the primary technical interface with launch vehicle and payload contractor organizations. Northrop Grumman responsibilities include review of contractor designs, analysis and other technical data; Technical oversight and review of processing and test activity; independent analysis to support verification and validation of contractor mission readiness; perform pedigree reviews of launch hardware; and provide risk assessments and flightworthiness assessments to the government. Requires strong written and verbal communication skills and extensive personal interaction with the customer and other contractor organizations. The position is in the RSLP Program Office collocated with the Air Force Space Development and Test Wing at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Minimum requirements: Bachelors Degree (Masters preferred) and 12+ years experience. Must have minimum 5+ years project/program management experience. Requires understanding of missile engineering and flight test disciplines including guidance and control, avionics systems, structures, aerodynamics, and propulsion. Demonstrated leadership managing IPTs is critical. Must have strong interpersonal skills and strong communicative skills. Active secret clearance requierd. The following are the preferred skills and attributes: Ability to work with other contractors. DoD acquisition, program/project management. Experience in Air Force or Navy flight tests. Understanding of missile engineering disciplines including guidance and control, structures, aerodynamics, and propulsion. CMMI and Six Sigma experience is also desired. Skilled in MS Word, Project, Excel and Powerpoint. Security Clearance Required.
