Job Description: The IACP Technology Center supports IACP members through the provision of information on the capabilities and use of new and emerging technologies; encourages and supports research, development, and availability of technology for law enforcement purposes; proposes the use of advancing technology for law enforcement applications; and works to influence the compatibility, integration, and implementation of appropriate technologies available to the law enforcement community. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Direct all administrative and substantive activities of the IACP Technology Center . In this capacity, the Senior Program Manager works to maximize the technological understanding and capacity of state, local and tribal law enforcement. Specific responsibilities include: Oversight of association-wide technology projects to include outreach/education, policy/standards and field evaluation efforts. Manage development and delivery of products/training designed to heighten police administrators’ understanding of technology and related issues. Provide technical assistance to law enforcement agencies in implementing and integrating technology programs. Disseminate targeted technology assistance focused on identified common issues. Serve as IACP staff liaison to the following: Law Enforcement Information Management Section Technology Coordination Panel Conduct educational presentations on IACP Technology Center activities and resources; represent IACP technology interests at national forums, public and private-sponsored working groups and various events. Build and sustain productive collaborations with local law enforcement, federal entities, state associations, major city chiefs, state and provincial police agencies, and IACP Committees and Sections. Sustain existing and identify new funding opportunities. Assemble, train and mentor professional staff. Directly supervise Project/Program Managers and oversee subordinate staff. Prepare detailed work and evaluation plans to achieve project objectives and measure progress/success. Ensure rules-compliant investment and control of project budgets. Conduct special projects and other duties as assigned by the S&P Director.
