Job Description:
* Responsible for research, design, and development of embedded software / firmware systems, in conjunction with hardware product development for tactical radio products.
* Responsible for all phases of the product development including requirement identification, design, test and product support.
* Systems Engineering including architecture, requirements definition, and system level debug for HF Radio systems
* Requires the application of the principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
* Analyzes requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost, and overall system constraints.
* Consults with electrical or mechanical engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software / firmware, and operational performance requirements of the overall system.
* Develops software design, programming, software system testing procedures, and documentation.
* Develops and directs software system testing procedures, programming and documentation with solid understanding of end-to-end system requirements.
Qualifications
* BSCE or BSEE with 7+ years minimum experience is required.
· Experience with the use of DSP diagnostic/debug tools such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers
* 3+ years experience in real time firmware development on embedded processors and DSPs is required.
* 1+ years with C programming language is required
Preferred Additional Skills:
* MSCE or MSEE 5+ years experience is desirable.
* Experience with software development process is desired.
* Experience with C++ and object-oriented design is desired.
· Experience with Digital Signal Processing algorithm development on TI DSP Platforms
· Experience with the use of MATLB Signal Processing toolkit
· Experience with software development process
· Experience with C and C++ and object-oriented design and analysis.
· Experience with Software Communications Architecture (SCA)
· Experience with Software Defined Radios and Waveform Development
· Experience with CMMI L3 development
· Experience with networking protocols
· Experience with High Frequency radio systems
