Job Description
IKON is seeking a Delivery Driver to serve Houston and the East Texas areas by driving a Bobtail truck (18ft/24ft).
Hours: 7 am - 6 pm, overtime required - Mon - Fri, possible one weekend per a month
Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs and pass a DOT physical. Will be moving equipment on wheels, pushing up to 1500lbs with assistance. Includes some warehouse work, loading and unloading trucks. 2+ years Bobtail truck driving experience required.
POSITION PROFILE
Responsible for the delivery, pick-up and installation of office equipment. Position requires basic operator training of the equipment delivered to the customer.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Ensures equipment is configured to the Bill of Lading.
* Ensures equipment is properly loaded and secured in the van.
* Delivers and sets up equipment at customer site.
* Maintains log book in accordance with DOT regulations.
* Ensures equipment is delivered to the correct location.
* Contacts the service department if technician is needed.
* Trains the key operator on the basic operation of the equipment.
* Ensures all paperwork is signed and properly processed.
* Responsible for maintenance of the van (i.e., reporting any mechanical issues, inspecting tires, fluid levels, license expirations, lights/turn signals, etc.).
* Ensures that his/her delivery vehicle (van) is safe to operate and is compliant with all DOT and state laws.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Financial Responsibility:
* Carries inventory value of $30,000 to $100,000.
* Limited scope of authority within pre-established specific policies, procedures and guidelines.
* Incumbent actions may impact some adjacent units and immediate work unit.
QUALIFICATIONS(Education, Experience and Certifications)
* High school diploma or equivalent education is required.
* Minimum two years experience is required.
* Previous experience working with DOT regulated employers is preferred.
* Maintains valid driver's license in accordance with company policy.
* Valid 2-year DOT Medical Card.
