Job Description: Job Description: Seacastle is one of the largest operating lessors of intermodal equipment in the world. We currently have a need for a qualified Maintenance & Repair Manager in the Memphis, TN Position Summary Manage the maintenance and repair (M&R) vendors of the Mid-South Consolidated Chassis Pool (MCCP); Provide safe equipment while controlling costs; Supervise M&R field survey staff; Implement and follow MCCP Maintenance & Repair Procedures; and Maintain cooperative and positive working relationships with customers and vendors. Disseminate MCCP repair criteria and standards to customers, vendors and M&R staff. Plan, implement, measure and report cost savings initiatives. Participate in scheduled and ad hoc M&R Committee meetings. Supervise M&R field survey staff. Plan and supervise implementation of comprehensive FHWA inspection program for fleet. Utilize PooStat3 effectively to manage the M&R costs within the MCCP. Communicate to the MCCP surveyors and customers in a clear and concise manner. Work closely with all MCCP staff to ensure chassis are safe, available and cost effective. Ensure through both staff and oneself, that the following are completed: Review and process repair estimates from M&R vendors. Perform daily audits of vendors chassis inspections. At least 20 audits per vendor per month. Perform post-repair inspections on chassis repaired. Negotiate vendor rates and tariffs when required. Perform vendor selection recommendations and reviews. Ensure all repair facilities are aware of and responsive to pool s immediate and projected equipment requirements. Communicate with vendors in a clear and concise manner. Requirements Bachelors degree preferred Maintenance and repair experience and knowledge of industry (minimum 5 years required) Previous management experience required IICL certification strongly preferred Valid drivers license with ability to operate a company vehicle Pass the eRailsafe test to gain access to all local rail ramps Excellent oral and written skills; in addition to attention to detail Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) Flexibility to quickly adapt to change Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and excel in a fast paced and dynamic work environment Must be able to multi-task and work independently as well as contribute to the overall success of the team Must comply with OSHA regulations and specific location safety policies and procedures Work Environment This job function is performed on-site at a rail yard requiring significant safety precautions and safety gear. Tempo is fast-paced with stringent deadlines.
